Wheelmouse Rad wird unter OpenSuSE 12.2. nicht bemerkt

Liebe Kolleginnen und Kollegen hier.

Ich habe vor kurzem mein OpenSuSE 12.1 durch Plattenformatierung gelöscht und
OpenSuSE 12.2 neu installiert:

Die an meinem Rechner angeschlossene Maus ist eine A4 TECH Wop49 mit 2 Tasten,
2 Rädern, davon eins ein Zoomrad. Eins der beiden Räder wird als dritte Taste erkannt.

Aber die Radfunktion (Fenster scrollen mit dem Rad) funktioniert nicht.

Konfigutration mit Yast2 schlug fehl: sowohl bei Konfiguration als
wheelmouse/PS2 als auch als generic PS/2 mouse funktioniert das Rad nicht.

Ich habe auch Sax3 installiert, auch dieses bringt das Mausrad nicht zum Scrollen.

Zur Information folgende Dateien:

/etc/X11/xorg.conf existiert nicht !

dafür ein Verzeichnis /etc/X11/xorg.conf.d

Die Maus ist eine Kabelmaus und angeschlossen an die PS/2-Schnittstelle für die Maus.
Daneben ist die Tastatur angeschlossen an die PS/2-Schnittstelle für die Tastatur.

Die Datei Xorg.0.log wollte ich eben als .gz hochladen, das geht aber nicht.

Fehlermeldung: Ungültige Datei

Was soll's....
