ständige Terminierung zwischen NX Server / Client

Hallo

Habe einen Ubuntu Fileserver im Netz, den ich via SSH, NX Server fernadministriere, da mir die Performance mit VNC auf dauer zu langsam war

auf dem Server sind die Nomachine Pakete NX-Server, NX-Client, NX-Node installiert

der Zugriff erfolgt via NX-Client Software von a) WinXP b) Ubuntu Client ..im Netz aus.

Die Verbindung, sowohl von der Windows Kiste als auch vom Ubuntu Clinet erfolgen einwandfrei !

allerdings erfolgt nach einiger Zeit die Meldung (wenn ich auf dem Server via Remote arbeite) "Log-Datei ist jetzt 3,4 Mb groß"

danach "Log-Datei ist nun 3,8 MB groß , Session wird beendet"

es spielt dabei keine Rolle, ob ich aktiv drauf zugreife oder die Session im "Suspend-Mode" läuft.

Das einzig ärgerliche dabei ist, daß ich alle Anwendungen neu starten muß ... da durch das automatische beenden , alle offenen Applikationen mit geschlossen werden.

Hm, ich gebe zu, die Idee ist völlig abwegig und hat mit dem Alltag im Serverbetrieb auch nicht das geringste zu tun ...
... aber ....
.... schonmal einen Blick in diese Logdatei geworfen?

Es soll Serverdienste geben, die wichtige Meldungen und Fehler in Log-Dateien schreiben ... habe ich mal irgendwo gehört.

ja sicher habe ich da rein geguckt

aber es gibt ja keinen Fehler .... da steht drin wann die session aufgebaut wurde, wann ich in den suspend mode gegangen bin und wann die session terminiert wurde !! Fehler sind da keine zu sehen , denn es funktioniert ja auch einwandfrei !!

nur nach einer gewissen weile erscheint ein Fenster was mich höflich aufmerksam machen will, daß die Client Logdatei schon 3,4 MB erreicht hat..

"warning: the clients log file exceeded the size of 3,4 MB"

bei der nächsten und letzten meldung, ist es dann nicht mehr so höflich, da heißt es dann, daß die Log Datei nun 3,8 MB erreicht hat und er die Session jetzt terminieren muß..

und es spielt keine Rolle ob vom Win oder Linux NX-Client gearbeitet wird

Da muss aber noch etwas mehr drin stehen, als wann die Session gestartet bzw. beendet wurde, oder wie kommt die Datei sonst auf ~4MB?

... setz den Loglevel herunter und/oder ein höheres Limit für die Log-Datei.

^^die frage wäre nur wo ?

also entweder

- entweder höhres limit der datei
- oder plan b (den gibt es ja immer ) , irgendwie erreichen , daß bei der terminierung der session , die anwendungen nicht geschlossen werden

danach kommt nur noch ein Session terminated at (uhrzeit bla..bla)

In der Konfigurationsdatei des NX-Servers ... evtl. ... vielleicht .... ?

Der Auszug aus den Logs sieht mir ganz nach loglevel = info (o.ä.) aus.
Den solltest du mal auf error (bzw. das numerische Äquivalent) setzen.

nicht am NX-Server auch nicht am Client war zu suchen

sondern am NX Node

unter /usr/NX/etc/node.cfg

ich hoffe ich habe vielleicht damit auch anderen geholfen, die ein ähnliches problem haben bzw. haben werden

Suboptimal.

Oder brauchst Du einen solch hohen Loglevel?

Wenn Du das z.B. auf 8MB setzt, dann wird Dir eben eine etwa doppelt so lange Session gewährt, bevor diese abgewürgt wird.

Ich würde eher nach der Einstellung suchen, die den Loglevel runtersetzt.
