Kernel 2.6.22-2

Nach Installation (problemlos auf hda1 bis hda3) wird beim booten die HD nicht mehr gefunden.

Die Lösung brachte Debian User Forums :: View topic - [SOLVED] Kernel 2.6.21 "Begin: Waiting for root file sy


kurz in deutsch: Alle Einträge in /etc/fstab und /boot/grub/menu.lst
von hda(x) in sda(x) geändert.

Eintrag für CD-Laufwerk von hdc in scd0 geändert.

Zunächst mal Danke für den kurzen Bericht und dann noch etwas Senf von mir dazu:

Der Grund für dieses Verhalten liegt in der Verwendung einer neuen libata.

Dieses Phänomen tritt z.B. auch bei der neuen openSUSE 10.3 auf, die ebenfalls einen Kernel 2.6.22 verwendet.

libata for IDE Devices
libata uses /dev/sda for the first harddisk instead of /dev/hda. Disks with more than 15 partitions are not handled automatically right now. You can disable libata support by booting with the following kernel parameter:
hwprobe=-modules.pata
Then you see all the partitions > 15 again and can access them for installation.
